Hani Hanjour, 29, is believed to have been the pilot of Flight 77. According to public records and witnesses, Hanjour lived off and on in the United States for a decade before the attacks. He and other hijackers took flight training in San Diego and Phoenix, lived in an apartment in Paterson, N.J., and rented at least three cars in nearby Wayne, N.J. Hanjour also was one of five hijackers identified by witnesses as being at the Arlington County, Va., Department of Motor Vehicles on Aug. 2 arranging for state identity cards. Federal Aviation Administration records show a Hani Hanjoor received a commercial pilot's license in 1999 and listing a post office box in Saudi Arabia as his address. |
