1891 The city's annual report of 1891 reflects stark differences from Augustus Koch's birds-eye-view drawing done the same year (below). This map portrays the city's growth and annexations and much more - including residential plats extending into Elliott Bay and the Duwamish. Missing from this map, as from Koch's view, is the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which eventually linked the lakes with Puget Sound.
