Throughout the stories in the Uninformed Consent series you will find this icon to illustrate that there is an original document online to prove or support the idea expressed in the story. These original documents are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and require the Adobe Acrobat Reader to access them. In some cases, not every page in a given document was scanned; you may find a PDF with page one, 10 and 25 if passages relevant to a particular point are found on those pages only.
If you do not have Acrobat Reader, you may download it from: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
You will also find the audio icon in some of the stories. This icon is used to indicate that there is audio from the reporters' interviews with some of the key figures in the stories. The audio is in .wav format; you will need the RealPlayer or Windows Media Player to access these files.
You may download the RealPlayer at: http://www.real.com/player/index.html?src=downloadr.
Windows Media Player may be downloaded at:
