Portland's 14,530-pound pachyderm, Packy, drops part of his whole-wheat peanut-butter birthday cake at the Portland zoo in 1997. Born April 14, 1962, Packy was the first elephant born at a North American zoo. Though conceived at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo, he was born in Portland.
