Adeline Smith, 93, reflects on the dams finally being taken out of the Elwha River. One of the oldest living members of the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe, Smith said her ancestors never wanted the dams. As she sat by the river as a child with her elders, she heard them speak of how they knew fish runs were going to come to an end because of the dams.
