The Elwha: Travel a river being reborn

Called devil's shoelace, native blackberry gets its name for its low-growing habit and ability to trip unwary hikers. It's just one of a suite of native berries being planted in the Elwha River Valley on ground that will be left bare after reservoirs drop. The berries are being planted both to help hold the soil and to feed wildlife.
