The Elwha: Travel a river being reborn

Kent Mayer of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife holds a chinook salmon trapped in a temporary fish weir that was stretched across the Elwha River so scientists could count, sample and tag fish. Fisheries technician Dan Spencer waves a sensor across the salmon to detect tags. After recording data, the fish are put back in the river to continue their journey upstream.
