Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled to Belfast for their first official visit to Northern Ireland before their April wedding.
Police kept watch from the rooftops for a visit that brought the center of Belfast to a standstill. Some 50 to 100 people gathered in the bright sunshine near city hall to watch the couple, who planned to walk around and greet the crowds Tuesday.
The visit is their third in recent weeks. Last month, the couple traveled to Wales and to Scotland.
