A rainbow trout works its way upstream on a side channel of the Elwha River in the Geyser Valley, above two dams that are being removed. All oceangoing fish have been blocked from the river since 1910. It's hoped some of the river's resident rainbow trout will once again go to sea as steelhead after the dams are out.
