Out of options, family lives in truck

In mid-July, Cherie Moore and Cody Barnes cook in their new two-bedroom apartment in Kent that they secured with the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. The spacious apartment, with its own dishwasher, washer and dryer, rents for $808 a month. Moore will need to put 30 percent of her monthly income toward rent and the program will pay the balance.
