Player of the game

Washington sophomore running back Bishop Sankey became the first Most Valuable Player off a losing team in the 21-year history of the Las Vegas Bowl. And with good reason as he rushed for a career-high 205 yards on 30 carries and also had 74 more yards receiving.

Play of the game

Boise State pulled off the kind of trick play for which it is so known, using a double pass to score a touchdown in the first half. QB Joe Southwick threw backward to receiver Chris Potter, who threw to tight end Holden Huff, who tumbled over UW safety Justin Glenn into the end zone.

Turning point

Boise State pulled off the kind of trick play for which it is so known, using a double pass to score a touchdown in the first half. QB Joe Southwick threw backward to receiver Chris Potter, who threw to tight end Holden Huff, who tumbled over UW safety Justin Glenn into the end zone.

Stat of the game

Boise State entered the game with a plus-1.5 turnover margin per game, fourth-best in the nation. That trend continued as UW had three turnovers to just one for the Broncos, including the interception in the final seconds that sealed it.

Injury report

Nothing significant.

Quote to note

"Frustrating loss. We knew that it would come down to the last possession or two of the game. To their credit, they find a way to win the ball game in the end." — UW coach Steve Sarkisian.
