Landslides in the Upper Chehalis River Basin

A December 2007 storm dumped massive amounts of rain in the river basin. In the aftermath, state aerial surveys tallied 732 landslides. Nearly three-quarters appear to have started near logging roads or in sites clear-cut in the last 15 or so years. The rest of the landslides were in forested areas, defined as any site with trees more than 15 years old. Click on the icons below for a detailed look at some of the landslides.
