A Hogwarts yearbook: Harry Potter Class of 2011
A look back at the characters who made the Harry Potter film series great, including Daniel Radcliffe as Harry ("Most Likely to Succeed") and Emma Watson as Hermione ("Brainiest").
No, the "Harry Potter" saga doesn't end with a graduation. But as the movies come to a close with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2" (opening late-night Thursday at numerous theaters), it seems right to take one last look at the Hogwarts class that we've come to know so well.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
The Students
Most Likely to Succeed: Harry Potter (Gryffindor)
Alter ego: Daniel Radcliffe
Favorite class: Quidditch (well, it was extracurricular)
Trademarks: Glasses, lightning-shaped scar
What he'll leave behind for the next class: the Marauder's Map ("I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.")
Last words (to Hogwarts): "I never realized how beautiful this place was."
The Brainiest: Hermione Granger (Gryffindor)
Alter ego: Emma Watson
Favorite class: All of them, but especially Charms
Trademarks: Always the first to raise a hand in class; unruly hair; sigh of exasperation
What she'll leave behind: Her beloved copy of "Hogwarts, A History"
Last words (to Harry): "Sometimes you can be really thick. You don't really think you're going to be able to find all those horcruxes by yourself, do you?"
This Year's Weasley: Ron Weasley (Gryffindor)
Alter ego: Rupert Grint
Favorite class: Care of Magical Creatures (because Hagrid taught it)
Trademarks: Red hair; fear of spiders
What he'll leave behind: His frilly dress robes, sent by his mother
Last words (to Harry, about Hermione): "We wouldn't last two days without her. Don't tell her I said that."
Most Likely To Stay Blond: Draco Malfoy (Slytherin)
Alter ego: Tom Felton
Favorite class: Defense Against the Dark Arts
Trademarks: White-toothed sneer; obsession with blood lines
What he'll leave behind: His outdated Nimbus 2001
Last words (to Dumbledore): "I don't want your help. Don't you understand, I have to do this. I have to kill you or he's going to kill me."
Most Loyal Friend: Neville Longbottom (Gryffindor)
Alter ego: Matthew Lewis
Favorite class: Herbology
Trademarks: Shyness; unexpected bravery
What he'll leave behind: His Remembrall
Last words (to the Death Eaters looking for Harry): Hey, losers. He isn't here."
aka Loony (but in a good way): Luna Lovegood (Ravenclaw)
Alter ego: Evanna Lynch
Favorite class: None; she mostly daydreams
Trademarks: Soft-voiced vagueness; wide-eyed loyalty
What she'll leave behind: Her unique earring collection (which include radishes and silver stars)
Last words (to Harry): "My mum always said things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end." (She said this several movies ago, but it's still valid.)
Next Year's Weasley: Ginevra "Ginny" Weasley (Gryffindor)
Alter ego: Bonnie Wright
Favorite class: Dumbledore's Army training sessions, taught by Harry
Trademarks: Red hair; wild about Harry
What she'll leave behind: Her skill with the Bat-Bogey Hex
Last words: None. Ginny doesn't talk much; mostly she gazes.
The Faculty
Albus Dumbledore (in memorium)
"Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy."
Severus Snape
"Over the years I've played my part well — so well I've deceived one of the greatest wizards of all time."
Minerva McGonagall
(to Harry, Ron and Hermione) "Why is it, that whenever anything happens, it's always you three?"
Rubeus Hagrid
"It's changing out there. Just like last time. There's a storm coming, Harry."
