They wrote the book on Seattle's World's Fair

Construction workers check the joists on the Space Needle as work on the landmark progressed in the fall of 1961. Eddie Carlson, executive vice president of Western Hotels and chairman of the Washington World's Fair Commission, conceived of the Needle after dining atop a television tower in Stuttgart, Germany.
